MMG upgrade to MINEMAN release 7
MMG Limited is a global resources company which explores, develops and mines base metal deposits around the world, and is a subsidiary of China Minmetals Corporation, one of China’s major multinational state-owned enterprises. MMG owns and operates the Century, Golden Grove and Rosebery mines in Australia, the Kinsevere mine in the DRC, and the LXML Sepon copper mine in partnership with the government of Laos. Projects include Las Bambas in Peru, one of the world's largest copper projects, presently under construction.
MMG have been using the MINEMAN system since July 2009 when they went live with the Marketing Module using MINEMAN release 6.
The upgrade project went very smoothly enabling users to transition from the old system to the new with zero downtime.
Gwenda Bastian from MMG’s Sales and Marketing team said “We recently upgraded from Mineman R6 to R7 and found the process and transition smooth and quite simple. Our role was made easy due to the organisation, professionalism and proactive nature of the key Mineman team, who were clearly quite experienced in the implementation process.
There are still a few minor issues to iron out and familiarisation required for the new functionality, but our queries, issues and questions have been met with patience and a prompt reactiveness.
In using the system so far, I have found the R7 system to be in many ways much like R6, which as a user, has assisted with UAT and minimised struggles in the transition process, but the new and improved functionality like the dashboard, data import, expense items data sort/ filtering and the ability to have many tabs open simultaneously has made using the system far more user-friendly and will certainly provide us with more flexibility and optionality, hopefully making our jobs easier going forward.”
With the success of the release 7 upgrade MMG can now look forward to adding the MINEMAN Finance module to their solution later in the year.
