Melbourne based MINEMAN Systems has signed a 10 year contract with Sterlite Industries, India, to supply and support the MINEMAN Smelters software package. Sterlite Industries, a subsidiary of Vedanta Resources plc, have large copper smelting and refining operations in India. Vedanta Resources plc is a London listed company and is recently included in the FTSE 100.

MINEMAN Systems supplies mission-critical software to the global mining industry. The scope of the MINEMAN Smelters contract includes smelter feed procurement, planning and scheduling, workflow automation, management financials and strategic analysis.

MINEMAN Smelters is housed in a data centre near Mumbai. Sterlite personnel run the system from the "Concentrate Desk" operation in central Mumbai and from other worldwide locations. MINEMAN Systems provides ongoing support and services from their Melbourne office.

Sterlite selected MINEMAN Smelters because the MINEMAN software and support package was the best match for their booming copper business.
