MINEMAN Systems has signed a contract with Newmont Mining and has begun work on implementing MINEMAN for the giant Yanacocha gold mine in Peru. Located high in the Andes Mountains of Peru, Yanacocha is the largest gold producer in Latin America, producing about 2 tonnes of gold and silver per week. The operator, Minera Yanacocha, is a joint venture between Newmont Mining and Buenaventura. Newmont is North America's largest gold producer and a leading gold producer globally with operations on five continents. Buenaventura is Peru's largest publicly-traded precious metals company. MINEMAN is the world's leading software and services solution for the commercial realization of concentrates and metals. From April 2012, several dozen Yanacocha personnel will be using MINEMAN for metal accounting and commercial realisation of all production and sales of gold and silver. The unique architecture of MINEMAN Release 7 is designed to streamline transactions in metal-bearing commodities and to maximise the value of a company's revenue stream.
