MINEMAN Systems is dedicated to the enhancement, delivery and support of a unique management system for mine product realisation. The solution is called MINEMAN and was invented in 1991, coined from the words "Mine Management"
BACKGROUND
MINEMAN Systems has been supplying services exclusively to the mining industry since 1983. We started with development of mining projects, engineering & economic feasibility studies, and pioneering of ore process technology.
Other work involved management consulting, market research and independent expert advice in legal disputes between mining companies.
During the 1990's the company began to develop database solutions for mining operations. Many successful projects were carried out in open-pit and underground mining, geology and metallurgical accounting, and eventually in downstream logistics and marketing administration.
This broad background differentiates MINEMAN Systems from other companies that provide software solutions to the mining industry. We are mining industry people and we understand the needs of the mining and smelting industries today.
FACILITIES
MINEMAN Systems is self-funded, owns its offices and equipment, is independent and unencumbered. The company is also a registered Research & Development organisation. We carry out original research for the MINEMAN suite of products including novel data structures, mathematical modelling and workflow automation.
For the last 15 years we have continually improved our product and our support to MINEMAN users. They rely on the application, and with their feedback and ideas they help us keep it proven and robust and up to date.
Our shared philosophy is one of anticipation and continual improvement.
COMPETITIION
MINEMAN's enduring competitor is the ordinary Excel spreadsheet, beautifully elaborated by many bright people. But every spreadsheet is different. Thus for mission critical activities, most mining houses today are phasing them out, or at least trying to. The problem is with transparency and risk and financial controls. And also with integrity of common data and shared business rules. The remedy is to put the data processing and rule complexity into MINEMAN. That solution is transparent, robust and scaleable.
Other competition include database systems developed in-house by the mining or smelting company. These types of systems require ongoing maintenance and ongoing adaption to business trends. As such they are difficult to maintain and limit the company's flexibility.
STANDARDS
MINEMAN Systems is focused on standards and procedures, and consistency in design and execution. Our reporting formats for base metal concentrates are well known, with invoices and shipping documentation known and accepted by over 40 smelters and traders worldwide (as of 2006).
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
MINEMAN was originally trademarked in Australia in 1993 and today is trademarked in twenty eight countries: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Russian Federation, Singapore, South Africa, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, and the United States of America.
INTERNATIONAL SCOPE
We are based in Melbourne, Australia. Our support of MINEMAN extends westward to India, Europe and Asia, and eastward to Canada and the Americas.
