Ma’aden Barrick Copper Company, based in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, became the fifth Barrick site to implement the MINEMAN system since 2020.
About Jabal Sayid
The Jabal Sayid copper operation is located approximately 350 kilometres north-east of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is a 50/50 joint venture with Ma’aden.
The first shipment of copper concentrate occurred in December 2015, and the mine commenced commercial production in July 2016. More information: Barrick Jabal Sayid operation page.
About the project
Ma’aden Barrick Copper Company engaged MINEMAN to deliver a Managed Services solution to support the management of Jabal Sayid copper concentrate sales and associated commercial administration in Saudi Arabia.
Scope
The project included:
Managed Services support: Complete remote commercial administrative and data entry support delivered by the MINEMAN Managed Services Team using the MINEMAN Marketing and Finance system.
Logistics management: Full truck and container management and reporting, including a full suite of delivery documentation with predefined signatures.
Arabic documentation: Delivery documents and custom invoices produced in Arabic to support local operational and customer requirements.
Stockpile management: Stockpile management configuration and reporting to improve reconciliation and inventory visibility.
SAP integration: Integration with SAP to generate standardised Sales and Mark-to-Market journals.
Group standardisation and cloud alignment: Configuration aligned with parent company standards to support consistent reporting across the group, and consolidation with Barrick’s existing AWS cloud-based database.
The objective of the project was to deploy MINEMAN Release 7 with full involvement of the MINEMAN Managed Services team to assist the site team in daily commercial marketing and finance administration of copper concentrate sales for Jabal Sayid.
Go-live
Requirements were signed off in December 2023. The project progressed smoothly and included onsite training and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support.
The following MINEMAN modules were configured: Marketing, Finance and Logistics.
The Barrick Jabal Sayid Marketing, Finance and Logistics System successfully went live on 25 May 2024.
Ma’aden Barrick Copper Company is a new client for MINEMAN Systems and further expands MINEMAN’s established presence across the Barrick group.
