Barrick’s Bulyanhulu mine in Tanzania went live on the MINEMAN system on 21 June 2025, becoming the tenth mine site added to the Barrick MINEMAN (ABX) instance and the sixth Barrick operation using the platform.
The implementation introduced several tailored enhancements alongside the standard MINEMAN Marketing, Finance and Logistics functionality.
About Bulyanhulu
Bulyanhulu is a gold mining operation located in Tanzania’s Lake Victoria Goldfields and operated by Barrick Mining Corporation.
Barrick, headquartered in Ontario, Canada, is one of the world’s leading copper and gold producers, operating across 17 countries on five continents.
Other Barrick operations currently running on MINEMAN include:
Nevada Gold Mines (NGM)
Veladero (MAS)
Pueblo Viejo (PVDV)
Lumwana (LMCL)
Jabal Sayid (JABS)
Several of these operations include multiple mine sites operating on the Barrick MINEMAN instance.
Project Enhancements
In addition to the standard MINEMAN functionality, several enhancements were delivered for the Bulyanhulu implementation.
Enhanced concentrate shipment handling
New functionality was introduced to support the site’s concentrate shipment requirements, including:
• Ability to split parcels
• Ability to link parcels to a designated parent parcel
• Ability to calculate Customs Final invoices for split parcels
Data import improvements
Additional import capability was introduced to support operational requirements, including:
• Import of additional seal numbers
Document and reporting customisations
MINEMAN was enhanced to support additional documentation and regulatory reporting requirements, including:
• Multiple signatories on designated documents
• Custom reports and documentation compliant with Ministry of Minerals (MoM) requirements, including:
Certificate of Origin
Attendance List
Provisional and Final Royalty Calculation Reports
Provisional and Final Clearing Fee Reports
Doré Monthly Tax Invoice
Operational Model
Under this implementation, the MINEMAN Managed Services Business Unit manages the marketing and finance administration of copper concentrate sales on behalf of the Bulyanhulu operation.
At the same time, Bulyanhulu site personnel use MINEMAN directly to manage gold doré shipments.
This Managed Services arrangement is ongoing and forms part of Barrick’s broader use of the MINEMAN platform across multiple operations.
Strategic Outcome
The addition of Bulyanhulu further expands Barrick’s use of the MINEMAN system and reinforces the platform’s role as a standard commercial management solution across Barrick operations worldwide.
