MINEMAN is pleased to announce the successful go-live of Sociedade Mineira de Neves-Corvo, S.A. (Somincor) on 17 April 2025.

This implementation followed the divestment of the Neves-Corvo Mine in Portugal and the Zinkgruvan Mine in Sweden from Lundin Mining to Boliden.

About Somincor

Sociedade Mineira de Neves-Corvo, S.A. (Somincor) operates the Neves-Corvo Mine in Portugal, one of Europe’s largest underground base-metal mining operations.

The mine produces copper, zinc, and lead concentrates, which are sold to smelters around the world.

Project Overview

To ensure uninterrupted commercial operations following the ownership transition, a dedicated MINEMAN environment was deployed for Somincor.

The Somincor operations — including Neves-Corvo in Portugal and Zinkgruvan in Sweden — were previously part of the Lundin MINEMAN system. With Boliden assuming ownership of both operations, a separate MINEMAN SOMINCOR instance was created to support the continued management of concentrate marketing activities.

The new environment enables Somincor to manage the marketing, logistics, and financial administration of copper, lead, and zinc concentrate sales across both European mine sites.

The project was completed in less than 20 calendar days, allowing the transition to occur without disruption to ongoing concentrate marketing activities.

System Configuration

The new platform includes the following MINEMAN modules:

Logistics
Marketing
Finance

Together these modules provide users with the tools required to manage the full lifecycle of concentrate shipments and sales, including parcel tracking, commercial documentation, and financial reporting.

Outcome

Despite the accelerated timeline and ownership transition, the implementation was completed efficiently.

For MINEMAN Somincor users, the transition was seamless — enabling them to continue their concentrate marketing operations as business as usual from day one.
