The giant Yanacocha gold mine in Peru has gone live using MINEMAN.
Located high in the Andes Mountains, Yanacocha is the largest gold producer in Latin America, selling about 2 tonnes of gold and silver per week. The operator, Minera Yanacocha, is a joint venture between Newmont Mining and Buenaventura.
Newmont is North America's largest gold producer and a leading gold producer globally with operations on five continents. Buenaventura is Peru's largest publicly-traded precious metals company.
MINEMAN is the world's leading software and services solution for the commercial realization of concentrates and metals. The unique architecture of MINEMAN Release 7 is designed to streamline transactions in metal-bearing commodities and to maximise the value of a company's revenue stream.
Yanacocha personnel now use MINEMAN for metal accounting and sales of all their gold and silver production. The new system will make the company more efficient in metal sales and allow the staff to continuously improve their revenue returns.
The project was implemented in record time by MINEMAN's global team located in Australia, India and Indonesia. The management of the project and on site training in Peru was carried out by MINEMAN Systems' Spanish speaking staff.
