Barrick Gold Corporation teams up with MINEMAN Systems
The Barrick Gold Corporation have teamed up with MINEMAN Systems to provide a software and services solution that will manage the administration of their metal tracking and sales processes for the Nevada Gold Mines consisting of 8 mines along with their associated infrastructure and processing facilities. The project has ‘kicked off’ and the teams from both companies are excited about the outcomes. Over the coming months the requirements will be locked down and the system will be configured to meet the Barrick Gold business objectives.
Barrick Gold based in Toronto Canada has the Nevada Gold Mines operation which is a joint venture between Barrick (61.5%) and Newmont Corporation (38.5%), combining the significant assets across Nevada to create the single largest gold-producing complex in the world, and realize the full potential of these mines through synergies and best-in-class operational improvements
Barrick Gold is the operator of the Nevada Gold Mines. The previously fully owned Newmont operations are very familiar to MINEMAN Systems, having managed their marketing, finance and production data since 2011!
As a part of the project, Barrick Gold have also engaged MINEMAN Systems to provide Managed Services for the concentrate management of the Phoenix operation in Nevada. This adds to the Barrick Gold Managed Services that MINEMAN Systems have been providing for Barrack’s Porgera concentrate operation in Papua New Guinea since 2015.
As a part of the engagement, MINEMAN Systems will be including a U.S based datacentre to ensure performance is maximised for Barrick Gold and in the future, other U.S based MINEMAN clients.
It is a tight schedule, with several projects being run in parallel by Barrick Gold, but the MINEMAN team are aiming to have the project live in Q4 2020.
