Newcrest Mining goes live on MINEMAN Release 7
Newcrest Mining has expanded the use of MINEMAN and upgraded to MINEAMAN Release 7.
The system is being used to manage the marketing, sales and financials of Newcrest’s gold, copper and silver products.
Newcrest is a leading gold producer in Australia, Pacific and Asia and is one of the top five gold companies in the world by production, reserves and market capitalisation.
MINEMAN is the world's leading software and services solution for the commercial realization of concentrates and metals. The unique architecture of MINEMAN Release 7 is designed to streamline transactions in metal-bearing commodities and to maximise the value of a company's revenue stream. The system can manage multiple sites and commodities, and in multiple languages, all from a single instance delivered globally. MINEMAN is maintained and supported by the company’s technical and commercial experts in India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Australia and Peru.
The previous version, MINEMAN Release 6, was implemented for Newcrest in 2004. Over the past eight years Newcrest has relied on MINEMAN for all of its sales, marketing, mark-to-market revaluations and cashflow forecasting.
The new system is widely regarded as industry best practice, and will make Newcrest more efficient and effective in maximising the value of its sales of copper, gold and silver. It will also enable Newcrest to seamlessly expand the sales and financials from further revenue sources from future mining and other activities.
The project was completed smoothly, on time and on budget, by MINEMAN's global implementation teams located in Australia, India and Indonesia.
